Corporate Responsibility at Novartis Bangladesh
Corporate Responsibility
At Novartis, corporate responsibility is not an add-on to the business; it is core to the business itself as well as company’s ethos. The Company has embedded ‘Return more to the society’ as one of its strategies with special focus on ‘Access to Medicine’ initiative.
To improve the access to healthcare service for the community people of remote and rural areas in Bangladesh through developing Community Paramedics (CPs), Novartis has been running the project ‘ASTHA’ (Achieving Sustainability Towards Healthcare Access (ASTHA)) since 2014. Besides providing regular health care services, ASTHA also creates awareness among the rural people on health and hygiene and other health related issues in the project areas.
In response to the emergency appeal made by Bangladesh Government and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Novartis has extended hands to address health care support for the Rohingya refugees who are currently residing in Bangladesh.
To show Company’s commitment to improving people's lives and serving local communities, Novartis has been observing Community Partnership Day since 1997.
