Sandoz Gold Awards Ceremony at the ten year anniversary program of Azyth

 

 

Dhaka, March 15, 2008 - Sandoz Bangladesh celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Azyth and honored three legendary physicians for their invaluable contributions to the healthcare sector in Bangladesh. 

On the 15th of March, Sandoz organized a program at the China Bangladesh Conference Center to mark the 10th Anniversary of Azyth. In attendance were more than 500 doctors from around the country. The main topic of discussion was a clinical study, conducted at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital, titled “Azithromycin versus Ciprofloxacin for Treatment of Uncomplicated Enteric Fever in a Randomized Trial in Bangladesh”, where it was found that Azythromycin produces similar results for treating Enteric fever compared to Ciprofloxacin.  

This event was also the venue for the award ceremony of the Sandoz Gold Awards which was awarded by the Sandoz Division to honor three legendary physicians of Bangladesh – National Professor Dr. M. R. Khan, National Professor Brig. (Dr.) Abdul Malik (Rtd.) and the late National Professor Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim (received by Mr. Sayef Uddin, Secretary General, DAB) with the Sandoz Gold Award for their invaluable contributions to the health sector of Bangladesh.
